Guest blog from Ben Farrugia, Director of Social Work Scotland

‘Leadership’ is a difficult concept to pin down, but we know it when we see it. The person who leads by example, embodying the values which underpin social services, and empowering those around them. The person who helps make positive things happen, fostering environments in which people can be the best they can be – whether that’s colleagues at work or individuals and families in the community.

Supporting and championing professional leadership is the core business of Social Work Scotland, and with our partners at the Scottish Government we can’t wait to hear your nominations for this year’s Scottish Social Services ‘Leadership’ Award. We want to hear about those individuals who inspire you, whose contribution, compassion and integrity deserves to be known and celebrated.

Applications are now open, and will remain so until 6pm on Monday, 27th June. Get nominating now!
