I’m pleased to announce that nominations for the the Scottish Social Services Awards 2019 are now open. The Awards are about recognising and valuing the life changing work being carried out daily by thousands of people working across the social services sector.
They continue to celebrate improvement and innovation, leading for change, people who go the extra mile in their work and the effective use of evidence to inform practice. I very much welcome that this year’s Awards features a special policy focus award to recognise excellence in Mental Health services.
As you can tell from our 2018 Winners people are making a real difference to those in need of extra help and support.
I hope people will take inspiration to apply or put forward an individual, team or organisation to continue valuing and showcasing the incredible work that is done across the sector. The deadline for nominations is 15 February.
This year, our award ceremony will once again take place at the fantastic Mansfield Traquair in Edinburgh, with a special afternoon tea for everyone who makes the shortlist in June 2019. I hope to see you there!
