Chief Executive, Scottish Social Services Council

Since their inception three years ago the Scottish Social Services Awards have recognised and celebrated the very best examples of practice in social services right across the country.

The workforce is the most important part of any good service, which is why we support them through our workforce development activities. Success to us means that people using services can have a good quality of life supported by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.

This year we’ve introduced a new category to recognise the workforce; Ethical Practice. We’re looking for entries from individuals, teams or services who are leading the way on ethical practice and understand the positive impact it can have people’s lives.

You might have innovative ways of using the SSSC Codes of Practice or the Health and Social Care Standards in day-to-day-practice and continuous improvement. Or you can demonstrate how you do that bit more to go beyond compliance with standards to improve outcomes for people using services.

Most of all we’re looking for entries that show you are living the values and principles which underpin the Codes and the Standards, so no matter what type of service you work in, if this is you, your team or your service, get your entry in now.
